The fanlisting will be back!

Site - Updates

October 10th, 2020: After almost 10 years, the site is finally back online! The fanlisting isn't back yet and I'm not sure I'm going to even have it; I like the idea of just a fansite for Janis and focusing on growing the content. Anyhoo! Enjoy the site!

March 11th, 2011: Unfortunately, I accidentally let www.janis-joplin.org expire but we're back under a different domain, the .org! Please update your links! Also, the Janis page isn't working but the fanlisting page(s) are working just fine so you should have no problem joining.

Welcome - Janis-Joplin.org

Welcome to Pearl, the only fanlisting listed at TFL.org for the one and only, Janis Joplin. Janis was the epitome of the 1960's sexual and cultural revolution. Her music inspired the baby boomers born in the 1940s and 1950's to revolt against the "norm" and to let loose, become free willed, independant, spiritual individuals. Her powerful, mesmerizing and unforgettable voice was the voice of a generation; you could feel her passion, her soul, her emotion and her raw, untamed talent that, once you heard her screaming "Ball and Chain" at Monterey, music had forever changed. Never in the history of music has pain been expressed so shockingly that it sends chills up and down your spine. Janis Joplin was born to sing the blues. You can feel her in every note she sings. She lived her songs. Just take a real good look at her or watch her live performances. Janis lives and legends never die.

Nowadays, some people will try to tell you that Janis wasn't a good singer or that she couldn't sing at all. Often too loud, too screechy or out of tune, she doesn't fit in with the cookie cutter, talent show bubblegum pop stars churned out by the corporate machine. But the detractors are wrong. Janis was a star, with a three octive voice. She could be raspy with harshness yet turn to silk at the drop of a dime. A true legend, who redefined what it meant to be a woman in music.
